Getting started
What do I need to run AI Store Brain?
A WordPress site (6.0+) with WooCommerce, PHP 7.4+, and an OpenAI API key. Create the key at platform.openai.com in two minutes; the plugin walks you through where to paste it.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Everything — keys, business details, FAQs, discounts, widget colours, the floating bubble — is configured from the WordPress admin. No page-builder blocks or shortcodes are required (a shortcode is available if you want the chat embedded in a page).
How long does setup take?
About 10 minutes: install, paste keys, click "Index products", enable the bubble. The catalog index runs in the background with a progress bar.
Does it work with my theme / page builder / cache plugin?
Yes. It's a self-contained floating widget that works with any theme, Elementor, Divi, WPBakery, Bricks and block themes. Security tokens are cache-proof, and the plugin auto-purges LiteSpeed, WP Rocket, W3TC and other caches when you save settings.
Costs
Why is it so much cheaper than other AI chatbots?
Because we don't resell the AI. Hosted chatbots buy the OpenAI API and charge you a monthly subscription with message caps. AI Store Brain connects to your own OpenAI account, so you pay OpenAI's wholesale price and we only charge for the software.
How much will OpenAI charge me?
With the default GPT‑4o mini model a conservative ceiling is about $2 per 100 customer messages; most stores see far less. You can set a daily message cap and per-visitor rate limit so spend is always predictable.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. $49/year for the plugin. Your OpenAI usage is billed by OpenAI to you directly. Taxes may apply at checkout depending on your country.
How it works
What does "self-learning" mean?
The plugin builds a semantic index (embeddings) of every product, category, attribute and variation. Whenever you add or edit a product, the index updates automatically. New coupons, prices and stock are read live. You can also turn any good conversation into an FAQ with one click.
Will it hallucinate prices, stock or tracking?
Product, price, stock, coupon and order data are fetched live from WooCommerce at answer time, not remembered by the AI. The assistant is explicitly instructed never to invent tracking details — if none exist it directs the customer to your support team and offers a handover.
How does order lookup stay private?
The customer must provide the order number and the billing email on that order (or be logged in as the order's owner). Guest lookups can be disabled entirely.
What happens when a customer needs a human?
The assistant sends the full transcript to your support email(s) with Reply-To set to the customer and tells them when to expect a reply based on your business hours.
Which languages does it support?
The assistant answers in the language the customer writes in. Your store content can be in any language.
Data & privacy
What data is sent to OpenAI?
The customer's messages, your configured business/FAQ text, and the store data the assistant looks up to answer (product details, verified order summaries, coupon codes). Calls are made server-side with your own key.
Where are conversations stored?
In your own WordPress database. You choose the retention period or disable logging.
Is it GDPR-friendly?
The plugin stores only what you configure, on your server. Lead capture is optional and opt-in. You should add OpenAI (and Klaviyo, if used) to your privacy policy as processors — our Docs include suggested wording.
Licensing
What does the license cover?
One year of activation, updates and email support for one WooCommerce site. The plugin code is GPL-licensed.
What happens if I don't renew?
You keep the installed version, but updates and support stop and the assistant pauses after a grace period until you renew.
Can I use it on a staging site?
Yes — staging and local development copies of the same store don't count against your site limit. Contact us if activation complains.
